(Sports) D-Wade Helps Family That Lost Everything

dwade1

D-Wade has been getting alot of bad press recently since being suspended for kicking Memphis Grizzlies player Ramon Sessions in the groin. Well it is time to give him some good press now as well. Wade completely surprised a family in the Miami area that lost everything when their apartment was destroyed by a fire.

Wade and his foundation showed up unannounced to the Lubin family temporary apartment. He bought them all new furniture and appliances to get them back on their feet headed in the right direction. Wade himself was the one carrying furniture into the apartment.

The mother Ms. Lubin was quoted as saying,

““I just went shopping and I lost everything I bought that day,” Lubin said. “I don’t know how to explain it, but I’m thankful.”

(Sports) Breaking News: Bears Fire Lovie Smith, Bills Fire Chan Gailey

IFWT_lovie_smith

Lovie Smith, coach of the Chicago Bears has just been fired. This is the biggest surprise of all the coaches who are being let go today. The Bears are routinely competing for the playoffs, and the players love him. Sometimes in sports things just do not make sense. The Buffalo Bills also just announced they are letting coach Chan Gailey go. That move does not come as a surprise as the Bills once again were a non factor in the AFC. Today has been dubbed “Black Monday” around the NFL , as this is the day each year after a season ends where some coaches are let go and teams go in different directions. I think the Bears are making a bad move .

(Sports) Phil Jackson is the Target For Brooklyn Nets Head Coach Position

IFWT-Phil-Jackson11

When you’re in need of a head coach who wouldn’t go after 11 time champion Phil Jackson?  Well with the exception of the 2012 Lakers, he’s the dream coach for almost any team and of course at the top of the Brooklyn Nets list.

The Nets have firmly targeted Phil Jackson — the man with the 11 championship rings, the Zen maxims and the geometric offense — to replace the recently fired Avery Johnson.

No deal is imminent, no formal discussions have taken place, and it is not even clear that Jackson wants the job. But the search will start with Jackson and only Jackson, according to multiple people monitoring the process.

Whether or not Phil Jackson wants the job is another story.  His agent released a statement saying Jackson was not interested in the job “at this time”, keywords there.  It’s still very early and no formal discussions have been held.  Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov has more than enough money to throw at Jackson.  He’s also quoted as saying the ordeal with the Lakers made him think about coaching again.  If he’ll coach the Nets is still to be seen.  The team needs a lot of work and isn’t near a championship level yet even with the Zen Master’s proposed help.  If he’ll be willing to take on the job looks like a long shot to me but hey it’s not impossible.

(Sports) Mavericks Hoping to Land Dwight Howard in Free Agency

IFWT-Dwight-Lakers11

The Dallas Mavericks failed at landing point guard Deron Williams but according to reports they still have their sights set on center Dwight Howard.

The Mavericks initially wanted to pair up Williams and Howard together but that plan fell through when Deron chose to sign a max level contract with the Brooklyn Nets.  Although Howard was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers the Mavericks are hoping he chooses not to sign an extension there and will become a free agent this summer according to Mavericks beat writer  Dwain Price.

Thanks to Mark Cuban practically cleaning house much to the dismay of Maverick fans, they will have enough cap room to sign one or even two superstar players.  Howard seemed content with the Lakers and many believe he will re-sign with the team but he is known to change his mind and has already shown dismay during their struggles.  The Mavericks hope to lure him to Dallas with a max level contract and the long shot of signing another superstar possibly Chris Paul.

(Kicks) Nike Air Max 2 Strong – Black – White

strong

It appears that Nike is aiming to reacquaint us with some unheralded Barkley models as we approach the release of the Foamposite-based Barkley hybrid shoe. One such model is the Air Max 2 Strong, which features the unique heel-strap and the neoprene bootie fit and classic ‘FORCE’ emblem at the tongue. This simpler Black/White colorway definitely serves as a simpler option compared to that ‘Godzilla’ print in the Suns colorway, so if you’re in the lookout for these, check Nike Sportswear Basketball retailers soon because Sneaker Politics has these ready to go at their Lafayette and Baton Rouge locations.
