French Montana is getting ready to drop his long-awaited debut album Excuse My French tomorrow. The Moroccan rapper spoke to HNHH’s very own Ashlee Ray about staying in the “classic zone” for the record, working with Miley Cyrus, and the approach to his hit single “Freaks”.
A 4-year-old boy died after being left in a hot car in North Carolina. The incident happened in Transylvania County, which is two hours west of Charlotte.
Authorities said it was an accident. The child’s grandmother had the boy in the car while she drove other children to school. Police said they are not sure why she didn’t realize the child was still in the back seat.
A neighbor said the grandmother was under a lot of stress and had recently been in the hospital.

R&B star Trey Songz had a bit of good news on the legal front this week. The star was accused of hitting a woman in the face with money while partying at a strip club in New York City back in August of 2012.
While the details remain somewhat fuzzy, it is evident that officials didn’t find sufficient evidence to confirm that Songz did anything illegal.
“There would be no clear case of misconduct,” the Queens, NY District Attorney’s office told TMZ. “There was just no high level of recklessness.”
So because no misconduct could be proven, the case has been dropped.
T-Pain claims his comments regarding Future waking up in his Bugatti were due to the fact that he actually lent the car to Ace Hood for the video shoot.
The auto-tune wars rage on. T-Pain caused a stir a few months back when he seemingly dissed Future, smugly labeling him the “New T-Pain” and suggesting that the Pluto rapper had woken up in “the old T-Pain’s Bugatti.” The “All I Do Is Win” hookman then clarified that while he did have respect for Future’s songwriting, his issue with the rapper was that he did not use auto-tune properly.
Chicago rapper Lil Reese was arrested on a warrant yesterday (April 28th) after police discovered the 20-year old asleep in a parked car.
The warrant had been issued earlier in the week for Reese, stemming from charges of criminal trespass to a residence with persons present, mob action and battery. The charges occurred in February 2012. Born Tavares Taylor, he’s being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
The rapper previously pleaded guilty to burglary charges back in May of 2010 and received two years probation.
Mani Chulpayev has been brought into custody after evidence suggested that he ordered a hit on Lil Phat in order to silence the rapper regarding the sale of stolen cars.
Baton Rouge rapper Lil Phat was tragically gunned down last summer at the young age of 19. There has been a lot of progress in the search for the killers recently, and now it’s been reported by Channel 2 News that three of the four men charged in the murder are now in custody, one of which is a former Russian mobster.
Greenville County deputies are investigating a shooting that left a young couple dead late Wednesday night.
Deputies said they got a call about a disturbance on Gilbert Court around 11:30 p.m. Deputy Jonathan Smith said investigators arrived on the scene minutes later and met with the caller who stated she found a man and woman inside the residence with gunshot wounds.
One student was stabbed with a pair of scissors after a fight broke out Monday afternoon in west Charlotte, police said.
Parents and neighbors who spoke to Eyewitness news wanted to know how something like that was not prevented.
As the dismissal bell rang, police, fire and paramedics rushed to a call of a student stabbing outside the school.

Last summer, A$AP Rocky was charged with assault and attempted grand larceny after attacking photographers that snapped photos of him during an altercation in front of a New York clothing store. After striking a plea in the case, the assault charges were dropped, and Rocky was fined and given three days of community service – only to be hit with a lawsuit shortly afterward. Shenick Alcine claims the rapper attacked him specifically, after he caught him doing drugs in the store.
Now, as reported by TMZ, Rocky’s insisting he acted in self-defense, and owes Alcine nothing. He’s filed documents in New York claiming “Shenick is a liar who attacked HIM and any punches thrown were in self-defense.” He’s asked that a judge dimiss the lawsuit.

A fire and explosion at a fertilizer plant that killed at least 5 and injured more than 160 is under control, officials said, but there’s still no word on the number killed by the blast.
“The casualty numbers, I don’t have a hard number to give to you at this point,” said Sgt. Patrick Swanton, public information officer for the Waco Police Department. “They are still working on that. I can tell you it is estimated anywhere from 5 to 15 at this point. I know that’s a rough estimate, but that’s the best that I can give you.”
A woman who called police and said she stabbed her boyfriend because he tried to hit her was arrested after police say they found the man suffering defensive wounds and his prosthetic leg tossed in the front yard.
Greenwood police said that Michelle Thomas called them just after 11 p.m. Monday, and said that she had been in an altercation with her live-in boyfriend, who she said was drunk and had hit her after she threw a pack of cigarettes to him. She told police she ran into the kitchen and got a kitchen knife and warned him to stop hitting her, or she would stab him.
Thomas said her boyfriend continued to come at her, so she began swinging the knife at him to defend herself. She said she knew she had cut her boyfriend’s hands, but did not know if she had cut him anywhere else. She said she then pulled off her boyfriend’s prosthetic leg to immobilize him and tossed it and a spare prosthetic leg out the door and called police.
A 71-year-old Shelby woman said being afraid never entered her mind when she found a burglar sleeping in her spare bedroom.
Early Sunday morning, Nellie Wylie was alerted when she heard snoring coming from her second bedroom.
She quickly called her neighbor for help and after searching the room, she said they found someone lying partially under the bed.
“I said if anybody’s in there you better come out now before I shoot,” Wylie said.
Wylie said the suspect screamed “Don’t hurt me,” and that’s when she called police.
Wylie believes the suspect let the dog out and then pried open her rear window.
Police arrested Matthew Gregg on burglary charges. He remains behind bars at the Cleveland County Detention Center.
Jeffrey Simon Hubbard, the man charged in the death of Kile Glover, Usher’s 11-year old stepson, has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Hubbard also pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft, boat traffic violation and serious injury by vessel.
Hubbard could face a minimum of three years in prison of convicted of homicide by vessel. Glover died last July after sustaining injuries during a boating accident.
According to officials, Hubbard was in violation of the 100-foot law, in which drivers of boats and personal watercraft are not allowed to operate at more than idle speed within 100 feet of a sitting object or a person in the water.
Tyga’s white Lamborghini was reportedly IMPOUNDED by Los Angeles police this weekend. The Young Money rapper was pulled over for an unknown traffic violation in Hollywood, and when cops asked him for license and registration, he reportedly was unable to present either.
While he was not arrested for the violation, the police issued a citation and his vehicle was impounded. TMZ reports that Tyga was also given a field sobriety test. He was not arrested for DUI.
He later briefly tweeted about the incident.
