Kanye West has launched a full-on media onslaught over the past several days to promote his upcoming album. One fellow artist that has been very impressed with Yeezy’s latest activity is West Coast star Kendrick Lamar.
Lamar spoke to MTV about Kanye’s single “New Slaves.”

More speculation comes in concerning Kanye West’s new album. Now a Japanese retailer may have confirmed the date, listing that a new album from ‘Ye is dropping on June 19th.
Today we get more potential confirmation that Kanye West is planning to drop on album in June. The rapper tweeted out the date ‘June 18′ on May 2nd, which set the internet ablaze wondering what exactly ‘Ye had planned for said date. Rumors included, an album, a single, his child’s birth…but nothing has been confirmed by the man himself. However, the Japanese retailer HMV Japan seems to think it’s an album.
A local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan is trying to recruit new members, and they’ve been passing out fliers in local communities. It has many people statewide upset and disgusted.
“I just hope people end up putting it in the trash where it belongs,” Donna Lilly said.
Lilly didn’t find her flyer, but Channel 9 found one in the street near her home. Channel 9 showed her what it looked like and she was surprised that the KKK is still around. ”I just didn’t know there was anything like that still around in this day and age,” Lilly said.

Rockie Fresh inks a deal with PUMA.
While we await Rockie Fresh’s new mixtape, The Birthday Tape, which is dropping today, the MMG rapper decides to deliver some good news to fans.
Taking to the site NiceKicks, Rockie Fresh announced a partnership with footwear and apparel brand PUMA. Now the company counts two MMG members as representers of their brand, as Meek Mill is already signed on with PUMA.
Trinidad James is determined to keep you all talking about him.
The “All Gold Everything” rapper made an appearance on Power 106′s “The Breakfast Club” this week and he was sporting a new look. The Atlanta-based star has switched from his infamously lop-sided Afro to a straightened ‘do.
James said he was getting his hair cleaned and he felt good about it–and doesn’t care about any criticism.
“I just do me all the time,” said the Def Jam Records signee.
Say what you will about Trinidad James–he is definitely an individual.
Taylor Gang head Wiz Khalifa is currently hard at work on Taylor signee Juicy J’s debut album for the collective. The Three Six Mafia leader is in the midst of a career comeback and his Stay Trippy looks to be a star-studded affair.
“He’s got songs with Justin Timberlake,” revealed Wiz in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid. Khalifa shared that J is looking to balance several different approaches on his latest.
“He’s really breaking his back to give it like that old sound mixed with the new.” said Khalifa. “Nothing forced or anything like that…a real well-rounded project.”

Funnily enough, Rocky and Wiz actually don’t have any music together– so the two are remedying that before the tour kicks off so that they’ll be able to perform together on stage.

Jay-Z assembles an all-star cast for the soundtrack to The Great Gatsby. The Roc Nation mogul, who serves as executive producer of the film and soundtrack, has worked closely with writer/producer/director Baz Luhrmann on the eclectic project over the past two years, blending the Jazz Age sensibility of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel with hip-hop and traditional jazz. “The Great Gatsby is that classic American story of one’s introduction to extravagance, decadence, and illusion,” said Jay-Z. “It’s ripe for experimentation and ready to be interpreted with a modern twist. The imagination Baz brought to Moulin Rouge! made it a masterpiece, and Romeo + Juliet’s score wasn’t just in the background; the music became a character. This film’s vision and direction has all the makings of an epic experience.” Jay-Z’s own “No Church in the Wild” is included in the film, along with a new song entitled “100$ Bill.” The first single will be the haunting “Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey. The diverse lineup also includes original music from Fergie, Q Tip, Florence + The Machine, and will.i.am. Beyoncé and André 3000 duet on a cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black,” Emeli Sandé remakes Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love,” and Jack White reinterprets U2′s “Love Is Blindness.” The soundtrack arrives on May 7, while the movie hits theaters on May 10. Ciara and Future have become such a high-profile hip-hop couple. The Atlanta-based stars have been spotted all over Los Angeles over the past few months, and their latest outing together was at Barneys New York in L.A. earlier this week.
Probably isn’t so smart for Future to be seen at Barneys with his girlfriend while his baby mama is trying to get more money out of him for child support for their ten year old son that Future just admitted was his back in January.
But, either way, they do make a cute couple and seem to be having a good time.
