A 104-year-old woman who was hospitalized after being found in her own waste with open wounds more than a week ago has died, according to the coroner.
Spartanburg County Coroner investigator Teri Carter said Demetra Leventis died Thursday evening at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Authorities say two Darlington men have died after a large home was destroyed by fire. According to reports, 67-year-old veteran journalist Dwight Dana was killed in the Sunday morning fire. Also killed was his son, Radisson, who lived in a house behind the man house.
Firefighters recovered one body near the front of the house and a second body toward the back of the house. Paula Dana, Dwight Dana’s ex-wife, said Radisson made the initial 911 call and told communications officers he was going into the main home in search of his father. Paula Dana confirmed both men were found dead.
The Darlington Fire Department spent more than two hours battling flames of the 110-year-old, two-story home, and remained on the scene to find the origin.

The estranged son of a candidate for Chester County sheriff was arrested Tuesday after police said he broke into a home to receive a cocaine delivery. Jacquese Underwood, 27, broke into a Rock Hill woman’s home to wait for a package that contained 1,000 grams of cocaine to be delivered to him and another man, police said. Drug agents got a tip about a package that was coming from California.
Officers swarmed the home on Shenandoah Road just after 2 p.m. Police said they arrested Underwood and Duane Harrison. Police said Harrison, 39, led them on a chase, but was later caught. Both men were charged with trafficking cocaine. The street value of the drugs seized is $100,000, police said.
Flavor Flav could be in serious trouble as details have surfaced over what happened at his Las Vegas home when he wasarrested for assault and battery, which include Flav using two knives to chase and threaten to kill a teenager.TMZ reports, that the altercation began when Flav’s fiancé accused him of infidelities, and the argument quickly escalated as the Public Enemy rapper grabbed her and threw her to the ground. His fiance’s 17 year old son was in the house and he stepped in to protect his mother.
According to reports, Flavor Flav then grabbed two knives and chased his fiance’s son through the house, threatening to kill him. He even kicked down a door to get to the teenager. During this, Flav’s fiance called the police and he was charged with misdemeanor battery, as his fiance’s earring was torn out during the altercation, and assault with a deadly weapon for threatening the teenager. Currently, Flav is out on $23,000 bail and has a court date scheduled for next week.
