There’s seems to be some growing animosity between the Minnesota Timberwolves and forward Kevin Love. There’s a chance they may say goodbye to Mr. Double-Double.
Love is currently in the first year of a $60 million contract but can opt out after the 2014-15 season.
According to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports, in an interview with NBA columnist Adrian Wojnarowski, Love recently questioned the direction of the franchise under owner Glen Taylor and general manager David Kahn. Love isn’t happy about not getting a five-year maximum contract, and some teams might try to explore acquiring him from Minnesota.
“I don’t think that’s a match that is permanent in Minnesota,” a rival assistant GM said. “I’m not saying they’re shopping, but if they can get the right deal they would look at it. And I don’t think he wants to be there.”
Love has an extremely high trade value and is still producing at an astonishing rate despite just coming back from a broken hand. If he is moved, it’ll be interesting to see where he lands.
Kevin Durant paid a small tribute to the tragedy that happened in Newtown Connecticut earlier today by writing the town on his sneakers for tonight’s game. Now I realize it is a very small gesture, and I am not giving him so much credit for doing so, but it is nice to know that some of these athletes that we idolize also feel the same things we feel. I am sure more athletes in the next couple days will pay tributes as well.
What a guy that Kevin Durant! Lol.
Check out this fan sitting courtside at the Thunder game who gets hit by a pass that goes out of bounds and then gets a kiss on the head from Kevin Durant only to be nearly hit again by another tipped pass and draws the attention of Clippers guard Jamal Crawford!
It’s very rare to see any physical contact between coaches on a sideline, so the reaction to this incident should be interesting, and it probably won’t be pretty for Tuberville. The Avalanche-Journal later identified the assistant as offensive graduate assistant Kevin Oliver.
Here was Tuberville’s answer in his press conference after the game. We’ll let you be the judge:
“He was on the field, I reached to grab him and pull him off, and when I pulled I missed his shirt and I grabbed his facemask — or his microphone — and it just ripped off his head,” Tuberville said. “I was trying to get him off the field.”
I love when athletes give back! In support of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love had Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald shave his head. The two are spreading love and awareness in an effort to raise money for breast cancer.
Every time this video is viewed, retweeted on Twitter or is liked or shared on Facebook – Love and Fitzgerald will donate 25¢ to a breast cancer charity, up to $250,000 total. Fitzgerald is all in on this because he lost his mother to the cancer.
I don’t see how everybody aint excited about this KD V!!!!?? Of course they aint Lebrons or Jordans but damn, these shits are obviously a step up in design from the KD IV’s. I guess everybody is gonna wait for KD to announce that he’s “taking his talents to South Beach” before they hop on the KD Nike Zoom bandwagon……I wouldn’t hold your breath for that…..in the meantime…..Check KD showin’ em off in this promo for NBA 2k13
The countdown is on till the beginning of the NBA season and each player is getting prepared. Bulls Derrick Rose, Thunder’s Russell Westbrook and the Timberwolves Kevin Love all trained together in Los Angeles as they did last year. They’re all prized pupils of trainer Rob McClanaghan and it’s all smiles for now.
These pics kinda suck, but I can’t even lie. I’m excited as hell about the KD V’s. And these first shots of the KD V Thunders just upped the ante. They extended the ankle, gave us textured, rounder strings, killed the strap, gave it a airbag & hit us w/ a CRAZY bright OKC colorway!! These are rumored to drop in December. Stay tuned for more info & better pics.
LeBron James and Kevin Durant are in the midst of “Hell Week 2″ together. For the second consecutive offseason the Oklahoma City Thunder star has joined the Miami Heat Most Valuable Player for a series of collaborative and grueling two-a-day workouts near James’ hometown in Akron, Ohio.
Kevin Durant is becoming more known for his affinity for hip-hop. He was asked what three acts he would sign if he owned his own record label. He also talks about taking on his brother in basketball as a kid, his go-to hometown hangout and shares some advice for up-and-coming athletes.
“While Durant was practicing with Team USA in Las Vegas, then his hometown of Washington, DC before traveling across the Atlantic Ocean to Barcelona, Manchester and London for the Olympics, he was busy. However, that didn’t stop him from welcoming the newest member of the young Thunder core to the squad and making sure Jones knew that he will have support this season, both on and off the court. ‘Perry and I got close over the last few months after we drafted him,’ Durant said. ‘I was happy that he reached a goal, a dream that he had been wanting for a long time…We have a good relationship and I’m looking forward to taking him under my wing and also learning a lot with him as well. I’m just trying to help him become the best and I’m sure he’s going to try to help me become the best as well. It’s going to be a fun relationship.’
After Jones’ first summer league game, Durant checked up on the rookie, and Jones returned the favor after Durant’s Team USA games. ‘He’s a guy that really cares about his team and his teammates,’ Jones said this summer at a Thunder Youth Basketball Camp. ‘A lot of people at his level, players like that, most of them care about themselves. It’s very rare to come around a type of player like that who cares about his team.’”
